Our Advanced Dental Technology

Technology has had a huge impact on the way we care for our patients at Dlight Dental. From advanced diagnostics in the earliest stages to precise treatment planning for the most advanced procedures, technology allows us to offer patients the highest quality care possible. If you’re interested in finding out more, explore the information below or contact our caring dental team. Let us change the way you think of dental care.

Intraoral Cameras

It can blow up photos of your teeth so that you can clearly see the inside of your own mouth. Any fractured teeth, decay, and other dental problems will be clearly visible. Having a “dentist’s view” of your dental issues will help you have a better understanding as well as enable you to make informed decisions regarding your treatment options.

Digital X-Rays

Dental x-rays on computerDigital x-rays are significantly clearer and have a much higher resolution than traditional x-rays. We use the newest digital imaging technologies so we can obtain the best pictures of your mouth while also reducing your exposure to x-ray radiation up to 90%. During your first visit, we’ll take computer images of your full mouth to help us diagnose tooth decay, periodontal disease, and problems in the roots of your teeth.

CT/Cone Beam Scanner

Patient receiving 3D cone beam scanLike digital x-rays, our Sirona 3D cone beam scanner gives us the opportunity to examine the inner workings of teeth and how the bite functions as a whole. The cone beam scanner surrounds and circles the patient’s head and captures digital images of the entire oral and facial structure. We can view these scans immediately on our chairside computer monitor, giving us the opportunity to clearly demonstrate areas of concern and provide clear explanations of treatment options.

Digital Impression System

Digital impressions on computerTraditional impressions require patients to bite down into a putty-like material that captures the shape, size, and grooves on the teeth. Impressions are used by dental labs to craft restorations, so it’s essential that these bite molds be precise. Our 3 Shape digital impression system allows for increased precision, and because they are instantly transferable digital files, the dental lab can get started crafting your restoration right away, decreasing your overall treatment time.

Digital Dentistry

This makes choosing the right cosmetic or restorative treatment easier for patients. It also allows us to show patients what their smile will look like after advanced orthodontic treatments. Best of all, this information is always at our fingertips for future review or exploration as necessary.
