Frequently Asked Questions
Have a question for one of our experts? Then you’ve come to the right place! Our patients ask us interesting questions every day, and we thought it would be helpful to answer some of the most common ones right here on our website. If you still have a question after reading this page, be sure to contact us and ask. We’re always more than happy to take time to help you better understand your dental health.
How often should I visit my dentist?
According to our doctors and the American Dental Association, patients of all ages should see their dentist at least twice a year for a standard checkup and cleaning. This is often enough that it will allow our doctors to prevent most dental problems from developing or catch them early enough to treat them quickly.
Do I still need a dental cleaning even if I brush my teeth every day?
Yes! The teeth have many small, hard to reach crevices that you miss every day just because the tools you have at home aren’t able to clean them. This is why a dental cleaning is so important. It gives our hygienists a chance to clean those particular trouble spots and prevent them from developing into cavities.
Why are my teeth sensitive?
There are many things that could cause this, but most of the time it is because the enamel around the sensitive nerve inside your tooth is too thin, exposing it to too much stimulation. Try switching to a toothpaste specifically made for sensitive teeth, and if that doesn’t help with the pain after a few weeks, be sure to contact us today.
Can you help fix my broken/decayed tooth?
Yes we can! We actually have a whole range of services specifically dedicated to fixing these kinds of problems called restorative dentistry. If you have just a small cavity or a slightly damaged tooth, we can probably repair it with dental bonding. However, if the damage is a little more severe, we may choose to use a dental crown. In any case, we’ll make sure your tooth looks and feels better than ever afterward.
I have a large gap in my teeth. Can you help?
Yes! We actually offer a treatment called porcelain veneers that is perfect for fixing this problem. They are extremely thin coverings that are bonded to the front of the teeth, and they can be custom-made to fix just about any cosmetic flaw you might have, especially gaps!
Can you help whiten my smile?
Yes! You have the choice of either getting a fast treatment in our office or using one of our custom-made take-home kits. No matter which method you choose, it’ll make your smile dramatically whiter (on your own schedule), and the results can easily last for several months.
Can you replace my missing teeth?
Yes, and we have a few ways we can do it depending on your particular tooth loss. If you are just missing a single tooth or a few right next to each other, we can easily restore them with a dental bridge. If your tooth loss is a little more extensive, our team can make you a natural-looking and comfortable-fitting denture.
For the most permanent solution, however, we may suggest that you get dental implants. They are the most state-of-the-art tooth replacement solution available today, and they are the best option when it comes to security, longevity, AND aesthetics when compared to any other treatment.
Will you accept my dental insurance?
We gladly accept most major PPO dental insurance plans, and we’ll work with your provider to make sure that you always get the most out of your benefits. To learn about how we can use your particular plan, please contact us today.
